Rough day today. What should have been an exciting day of closing on our first house turned into a mess. I could hardly keep my head straight all day because I ws so excited to close on our house after school. All of the waiting and packing was supposed to pay of tonight. Instead, Jason got a call 1/2 hour before our closing today saying that the underwriters for our loan had JUST taken a look at our paperwork (after they have had it for 7 weeks) and noticed some additional legwork that needs to be done on their end. Long story short, our closing has been postponed until Thursday. This wouldn't be such a huge deal if we didn't have to be out of our apartment with it totally cleaned up by midnight on Sunday. The seller was kind enough to give us a key today so we can begin moving our things in. It just wasn't the starry-eyed, tears streaming down my face, Jason carrying me over the threshold of our first house kind of moment I have always dreamed of. We unloaded two truckloads of stuff tonight and tried to make the best of it, but it's just not what we had expected. It doesn't really feel like ours yet. Hopefully on Thursday I'll have some happy pictures and words to post when we actually have signed the paperwork and the house is ours.
