Learning to sleep and play

Eli is over 3 weeks old and doing just great!  We were surprised to find out at his appointment with our midwife yesterday that he hasn't gained any weight in the past 2 weeks which is concerning us just a little.  She didn't seem too worried being that he appears to be an active, healthy little baby, and she attributed his lack of weight gain to our difficulties with breastfeeding in the beginning.  Just to make sure everything is okay, we're going to make an appointment with a pediatrician for this week to get Eli a thorough checkup.
He continues to sleep through the night, and we are SOOO greatful for that!  He has given us at least 6 hours of sleep each night for the past 2 weeks.  I can't believe it!  I know this will change, but we are so proud of our little guy for right now and are reveling in some much-needed nighttime rest.

This past week I have finally reached the point where I am finding ways to ENJOY Eli rather than just trying to make it through the day.  I've been reading up on all sorts of ways to play with him, and "tummy time" seems to be one of his favorites.  We go up in his room, lay down our biggest, fluffiest blanket, turn on some music, and we both lay on our tummies.  We make faces at each other (he's starting to mimic me) read books and snuggle.  It's great!  Being a mommy can be so much fun, especially when Eli is in a good mood :)

Here are just a few photos from this week:
